Connect your AI agent to 44API
44API validates VAT and tax identifiers, returns available company details, and manages account IP whitelists.
Set it up in Melso
- 1In Melso, open Settings → Agent Apps and hit Connect on 44API.
- 2Finish the API_KEY sign-in in the window that opens. Melso stores the connection, not your credentials.
- 3Open your agent, go to its Agent Apps tab, and allow 44API.
- 4Give the agent a task. It calls 44API itself when the work needs it.
What 44API gives your agent
The tools, permissions, and events 44API exposes — the same ones your agent can use once the app is authorized.
What you sign in with
44API connects with API_KEY.
Permissions
44API does not break access down into granular permissions.
Tools 44API exposes
Add Whitelisted IP
Add one IPv4 or IPv6 address to the account whitelist using a verification email address. Requires an Enterprise 44API plan. The request contract is documented, but a successful addition has not been live-verified.
List Whitelisted IPs
List IP addresses currently allowed by the account whitelist. This operation requires an Enterprise 44API plan; the API rejects lower-tier accounts.
Remove Whitelisted IP
Remove one IPv4 or IPv6 address from the account whitelist. This destructive operation changes account access controls and requires an Enterprise 44API plan. The shared whitelist endpoint's Enterprise gate was live-verified, but its mutating remove branch was not executed live.
Validate VAT Number
Validate one VAT or tax ID for a supported country and return its validity plus any company details available on the connected plan.
