Connect your AI agent to Semrush
Semrush is a popular SEO tool suite that specializes in keyword research, competitor analysis, and Google Ad campaign optimization.
Set it up in Melso
- 1In Melso, open Settings → Agent Apps and hit Connect on Semrush.
- 2Finish the API_KEY sign-in in the window that opens. Melso stores the connection, not your credentials.
- 3Open your agent, go to its Agent Apps tab, and allow Semrush.
- 4Give the agent a task. It calls Semrush itself when the work needs it.
What Semrush gives your agent
The tools, permissions, and events Semrush exposes — the same ones your agent can use once the app is authorized.
What you sign in with
Semrush connects with API_KEY.
Permissions
Semrush does not break access down into granular permissions.
Tools Semrush exposes
Check Semrush account units balance
Tool to fetch the remaining Semrush Standard API units for the authenticated account. Use this before launching large batches of Semrush report requests to preflight and fail fast if units are exhausted or below a required threshold.
Get ad copies
Retrieves unique ad copies Semrush has observed for a specified domain from a regional database, detailing ads seen in Google's paid search results. Results are a sampled subset, not a complete picture of the domain's advertising. Response is returned as a CSV-like string; parse columns (e.g., Tt, Ds) using the pipe or semicolon delimiter.
Use Semrush from the agent you already run
Melso runs the agent. You decide which of your authorized apps it may reach.
Hermes
Run Hermes as a Melso agent and let it use the apps you have authorized.
