Form 111: withholding on your payments.
If you pay professionals’ invoices with tax withheld, you may have to pay that amount to the Tax Agency through Form 111. We review your payments and the service scope before preparing the return and asking for your approval.
Form 111 · Withholding tax
The income tax you withhold when paying others.
Form 111 reports withheld tax and advance payments on certain types of income, including employment income and professional fees. The payer who is required to withhold files it, not the person who receives that income.
Who needs to file it?
- Self-employed people who pay professional fees subject to withholding.
- Payers of employment income or other income covered by the form.
- Periods with income subject to withholding, even if the calculated withholding is zero.
Usually quarterly; monthly in some cases.
Standard quarterly window: 1–20 January, April, July and October for the previous quarter. If monthly filing applies, it is due 1–20 of the following month. Non-working days can move the deadline, and direct debit closes earlier. We confirm the current calendar. Form 190 is the annual summary of this income.
What we need to prepare it.
We gather the records and ask for anything missing before preparing the return.
- Invoices from professionals you have paid.
- Tax IDs and identifying details for each recipient.
- Payment dates, amounts and withholdings for each payment.
- Previous Forms 111 and any additional documents agreed for the service.
Your taxes, handled by professionals.
We confirm whether Form 111 applies to your payments and whether it is within the agreed scope. Payroll management is not assumed to be included. Our professionals prepare and review the agreed return. You approve the exact version in the app, and Melso files it with the required authority and provides the actual AEAT receipt.
Before preparing this return.
Form 111 reports tax you withhold when paying others. If one of your own invoices includes withholding, your client pays that amount to the Tax Agency when required to withhold.
For Form 111, the payment date matters. For professional invoices, we review payment dates, partial payments and the withholding due in each period.
If you did not pay income subject to withholding, you do not file for that period. If you paid income that is subject to withholding but the calculated withholding is zero, you must file a nil return.
The official form also covers employment income. Payroll management is not assumed to be included: we confirm its documents and the agreed professional scope separately before work starts.
