Declarando review: pricing, service and alternatives

In short

  • Compare the same scope: invoicing, preparing taxes and filing them are different jobs.
  • Turn the advertised price into an annual cost and check when you are charged.
  • Ask the offer to spell out how your Renta is reviewed and which personal situations it covers.
  • Read reviews alongside the contract, the plan and the date of the experience.

Declarando review: is it worth it in 2026?

If you are looking for a Declarando review, our take is that it can suit you if you want to handle your own taxes with help: its plans with taxes start at €49.90 a month, on an annual plan and plus VAT, but you file the quarterly returns with Hacienda yourself (Declarando, accessed 12/10/2026). If you want to hand them off, compare who does each task.

This review is based on public pages accessed on 12 October 2026, not on signing up as a customer. We keep the advertised features apart from what users say about their experience and from our own view of who it suits.

We compare services that meet the same need on verifiable features, following the standard in article 10 of Spain's Unfair Competition Act (BOE, accessed 12/10/2026). We do not give our own rating, and we do not treat accusations posted online as proven.

What is Declarando and what is left for you to do?

Declarando offers software to invoice and manage your business as an autónomo (self-employed person in Spain), with plans without taxes, for working with your own gestor, and plans with taxes, which include tax help. The split is set out in its official catalogue, accessed 12/10/2026.

First, be clear about who sends the return. Declarando's FAQ explains that the quarterly returns are generated so that you file them yourself on the Hacienda website, with help from a tax expert if you have questions (company source, accessed 12/10/2026).

So if you like being in control of the process, that split may suit you. If you expect to hand over your documents and get a filing receipt back, ask for a proposal that expressly describes that service. The word "taxes" on a price list is not enough to tell.

Before you choose an online gestoría for the self-employed, tell these ways of working apart. The diagram is a guide for comparing offers, not a statement about what any brand does.

Compares three arrangements: using software, managing with help or handing off the filing; in all of them you must pin down the review, the filing and who gives you the receipt.(opens the image in a new tab)
A guide to reading quotes. The contract should name who is responsible for each task.

How much does Declarando cost and what does the monthly price mean?

The official page lists prices on an annual plan, even though it shows them per month. This is how its 2026 prices read; the last column is our own calculation of twelve monthly equivalents, with no extra services added (Declarando, accessed 12/10/2026).

Published optionPlanMonthly equivalent, plus VATCalculated annual base, excl. VAT
Without taxesVerifactu Plus€9.90€118.80
Without taxesBásico€29.90€358.80
Without taxesPro€39.90€478.80

With taxesBásico€49.90€598.80
With taxesPro€69.90€838.80
With taxesPremium€99.90€1,198.80

Note that €49.90 applies to two different services: Premium without taxes and Básico with taxes. The names and figures come from the same Declarando table, accessed 12/10/2026. When you compare quotes, always write down the option and the plan together.

We have not confirmed an equivalent price for month-to-month billing. Nor do we assume the charging schedule from the "€/month" label. Before you pay, ask for the upfront amount, the billing dates, the renewal terms and what happens if you cancel early.

Are the Renta and support the same on every plan?

No. On the plans with taxes, Declarando describes the Renta (the annual income tax return) on Básico and Pro as automated and limited to income; on Premium, as filed by an adviser. Its explanation adds that on the automated Renta you must review anything unrelated to your business (Declarando, accessed 12/10/2026).

If you have rental income, investments or other personal circumstances, bring that up on the sales call. Ask them how it gets included and who checks it. A tool that generates figures from your business does not, on its own, answer that question.

For support, the table lists email and chat on Básico, and email, chat and phone on Pro and Premium (Declarando, accessed 12/10/2026). These are advertised channels; this review does not measure real response times. Also ask for the support hours and how an urgent question is handled.

Is there a free trial and a refund?

Declarando advertises a 7-day trial and a 14-day money-back policy after you sign up (terms published on its pricing page, accessed 12/10/2026). These are advertised commercial terms, not a conclusion about the legal rights that apply to any contract.

Keep the offer that applies to your purchase and ask for the procedure to use that refund policy. Do not confuse the initial refund window with a right to get unused months back later on: that point needs confirming before you sign up.

What does the anti-penalty cover protect you from?

Declarando's explanation ties its anti-penalty cover (garantía antisanciones) to fines for errors in invoices issued with its software (company source, accessed 12/10/2026). Do not conclude from that claim that it covers any tax issue: ask for the coverage document, the exclusions and the procedure for reporting a problem.

What do Declarando reviews say and how should you read them?

The Trustpilot profile, accessed 12/10/2026, showed 4.2 out of 5 and 3,980 reviews. Among the visible reviews there is praise for the advisers' explanations and for the support during sign-up. That shows what the reviewers wrote, not a uniform experience for every customer.

The same platform warns that it does not verify what reviews say. Read both positive and negative experiences, along with the company's replies, and check whether they talk about the task you want to hire for (Trustpilot, accessed 12/10/2026).

The testimonials hosted by Declarando, accessed 12/10/2026, showcase success stories. They tell you which experiences the company chose to highlight; they are not an independent sample, and they cannot predict your tax savings.

On the OCU page, accessed 12/10/2026 (OCU is a Spanish consumer organisation), there are complaints whose authors allege delays in refunds. OCU explains that its score measures willingness to resolve consumer problems: it does not measure the same thing as an overall service rating, and publishing a complaint does not prove the facts alleged.

What you can take from a single review

Look for the plan, the service involved and the date. An experience about a grant or an IT team does not necessarily describe how quarterly filing works. Likewise, a good experience at sign-up does not assess the whole tax year.

Use those experiences to prepare your questions: who will handle your case, what happens if documents are missing, how a refund is processed and how you will get your accounts back when you leave. When a review does not name the service, you lack the information to pin that problem, or that advantage, on the plan you are considering.

Tip

Bring an invoice and a question about your business to a demo. Ask them to show you how it is recorded, who reviews the treatment and which part of the process you will have to do yourself.

Example: how much should you budget for a full year?

Take Lucía, a self-employed designer in Madrid, who wants to compare a year of service and has no other gestor. This is an illustrative case: we assume she can sign up for Básico with taxes, needs no extras and the annual fee is billed in one go.

We start from the €49.90 monthly equivalent on an annual plan published by Declarando, accessed 12/10/2026. To work out the outlay in the example we apply the standard 21% VAT (IVA in Spain) rate, confirmed by the AEAT, Spain's tax agency, accessed 12/10/2026.

  1. Work out the annual base: €49.90 × 12 = €598.80.
  2. Work out the VAT on that annual invoice: €598.80 × 21% = €125.75, rounded to the cent.
  3. Add up the outlay: €598.80 + €125.75 = €724.55.
  4. Check the scope: if she needs an extra service, ask for its price and add it before comparing.
An annual base of €598.80 plus €125.75 of VAT adds up to €724.55, assuming a single annual invoice and no extra services.(opens the image in a new tab)
Illustrative calculation with a single annual invoice. Price: Declarando; standard rate: AEAT. Accessed 12/10/2026.

The single-annual-invoice assumption is there to explain the calculation; it does not confirm how Declarando will charge you. With separate invoices, the rounding may differ. Nor are we working out the cost after tax deductions or subtracting any supposed tax saving.

To weigh up another offer, Lucía also needs to compare the work she keeps. Xolo Local advertises €39 a month plus VAT, or €45 with the Renta option, billed monthly; that option requires at least 6 months to include the personal Renta and excludes a spouse's return and cases that need a premium-level service (Xolo, accessed 12/10/2026).

With the €45 option, twelve payments add up to a €540 base; applying 21% to each payment gives €54.45 a month and €653.40 over twelve months. This is our own calculation, with no promotions or extras. A difference in price does not make the coverage equivalent: you need to confirm Lucía's taxes and personal situation in both offers.

How Melso helps

If the hard part is coordinating the handover, Melso reviews your situation, helps you gather documents and agrees which quarter it starts from when you switch gestoría. You can look at Pro for €59 a month or €588 a year and confirm the scope for your business before you sign up.

The guide to the price of a gestoría for the self-employed helps you separate the fee, the extras and the payment terms. Use that breakdown even if the offer is not annual.

Which option suits you best?

Choose based on the task you want solved. The table suggests which offer to look at and what to ask before accepting it; it does not rate service quality or predict outcomes.

Declarando may be the best choice for you if you value its guided self-management, you are comfortable after the demo and you prefer to stay in control of the filing: that way of working is described on its pricing page, accessed 12/10/2026. It would make no sense to rule it out just because of a review about a different service.

If you would rather hire professionals to do the filing, compare that specific job. For more candidates, see the guide to the best online gestoría. You can also read our review of TaxDown before asking for another quote.

What should you check before signing up or switching?

  1. Describe your actual business. Say who you invoice, where your clients are and which issues are pending; ask them to confirm they accept your case.
  2. Ask for a complete offer. It should name the option, the plan, the contract period, the charges, the extras and the renewal and cancellation terms.
  3. Split the tasks in writing. Pin down who prepares, reviews and files each return, and how the quarter of the switch is coordinated.
  4. Secure the handover of documents. Ask for the books, invoices, returns and filing receipts, and find out how you will get them back when the service ends.
Describe your business, ask for a complete offer, agree who prepares, reviews and files, and secure the handover of documents and filing receipts.(opens the image in a new tab)
Check the whole job

The Agencia Estatal de Administración Tributaria, the AEAT (Spain's tax agency), explains how to look up the filing receipt and a copy of returns filed by authorised filers (AEAT, accessed 12/10/2026). Ask your professional for those documents: a draft or an "all good" message is not a filing receipt.

Common mistakes when comparing Declarando with other options

  • Stopping at the starting price. Check the full plan name, the contract period and the cost of the tasks that are missing.
  • Assuming your whole Renta is included. Ask which personal information they review and who adds whatever does not come from your business.
  • Treating reviews as a contract. A positive or negative experience does not replace the specific offer you are about to sign.
  • Subtracting advertised tax savings from the budget. First compare what you will pay for the service, without assuming the outcome of your returns.
  • Switching without assigning the pending work. Agree who files each period and who hands over the receipt, even if both services overlap for a few days.

How Melso helps

Melso is your AI tax agent, with human professionals behind it: you can send receipts and invoices and get answers on WhatsApp, while your paperwork is organised for the switch of gestoría.

Depending on your business and tax profile, Melso and its professionals prepare and review the returns included, you approve the exact draft in the app and, with the required authorisation, the professional files that version with the AEAT, and the filing receipt proves it was filed.

The Renta is included in Pro and Plus; other annual and informative returns, payroll and AEAT notices need confirmation in writing, as set out in the scope of the service.
